About Course

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the rich tradition of Hindustani Classical Music, one of the two major systems of Indian classical music. Students will explore the fundamental concepts of Raga (melodic framework) and Tala (rhythmic cycle), along with voice culture, basic swaras (notes), alankars (patterns), and traditional compositions such as Bandish. The course emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical performance, helping learners develop pitch accuracy, rhythm sense, improvisation skills, and emotional expression.

Through guided practice, listening sessions, and structured exercises, students will gain knowledge of key elements such as Aalap, Taan, Sargam, and the structure of classical performances. The curriculum also introduces the historical evolution, major gharanas (schools), and legendary maestros who shaped the tradition.

By the end of the course, learners will be able to perform basic ragas confidently, understand rhythmic structures, and appreciate the depth and spiritual essence of Hindustani Classical Music. This course is suitable for beginners as well as learners seeking a strong foundational base in classical vocal music.
